Welcome back from our summer interval! Hope everyone enjoyed our warm, sunny Ohio weather...well...if you could find it!

Your board of directors have been meeting during the summer months busily working on many projects that will benefit all of us members. I would like to re-address my February article of this year. I had talked about the importance of promoting what we do and why. To be an active force in helping the public understand the life safety values we strive to provide for their, as well as, our benefit as users of the structures in our communities. There are several projects that your board has been working on with the purpose of realizing these goals. One of the projects is a series of television and radio promotions that are being produced by Stonekap Productions here in Canton. Right now we have three ads of various content, yet, with the same messages - that we are promoting what we do, that we are striving to accomplish safety in buildings, and that we are here to help them achieve that goal. As they become available from the production process they will be posted on the website for your review.

Another related project that is being discussed involves a promotion of Building Safety Week for next spring. In the near future the Promotion Committee would like to get together with all of the local Chief Building Officials to discuss an area-wide promotion. We would like to gather a collection of ideas that all of the local building departments could put into action to promote our services to the public in our communities. Also the aim is to use our tv and radio ads to help with this endeavor at that time. The committee would appreciate any help with these tasks! It will take the input of all of our members to get our message to the public in an understanding and positive way!
